 On the Cover
“After the Harvest” was painted by Long Island artist Christine Gordon. Ms. Gordon loves painting still lifes and landscapes, finding great beauty in the simple things. Of “After the Harvest,” she says: “The colors are so rich and velvety, like the colors we see at the local farm stands in the fall. To me, the painting suggests stepping back and seeing what has been harvested and being grateful.”
Ms. Gordon's work has appeared in many galleries and won numerous awards. In 2006, she was commissioned to paint the official N.Y. State Easter egg displayed at the White House. Her miniatures are on view at Chrysalis Gallery, Southampton; privately commissioned works can be seen at Waters Crest Winery, Cutchogue. A Web site, artbycmgordon.com, will be online soon.
Ms. Gordon and her husband, Rich, are longtime Long Island Wine Ambassadors.
